This professionally run B&B (the host family does not live in the building) is on the 2nd floor of an early 20th Century elevator building. It is located on Via Cola di Rienzo, a street in one of Rome’s best known shopping quarters. It has 6 bedrooms with sleeping accommodations for 13 people. It is elegantly decorated and furnished in white, brown and gray colors. All 6 bedrooms have queen size beds or 2 single beds joined together and ensuite bathrooms. Bedroom number 1 has a 3rd sleeping accommodation and its bathroom has a shower with water massage jets while the other 5 bathrooms have a standard stall showers. Each room has a flat screen LCD television; air conditioning; a safe; an Internet Wi Fi connection and a hair dryer. The windows are double glazed and look out onto either a courtyard or a side street which creates a quiet atmosphere for sleeping. Breakfast will be served in a general dining area of the B & B. The host will provide keys to all guests allowing them access at their convenience. No smoking, please. The apartment is within walking distance to The Vatican Museum (the Sistine Chapel), St. Peter‘s Basilica and Castel Sant‘Angelo. By crossing either of the 2 bridges near the Vatican (the Amedeo di Savoia or the Vittorio Emanuele II) it is a pleasant 15-20 minute walk to the historical center of Rome including Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, Campo de’ Fiori, Piazza Venezia and the Coliseum. The Via Cola di Rienzo itself offers a wide selection of boutiques, small food shops, outdoor fruit markets, supermarkets and ice cream parlors. Along the side streets there are many restaurants (including the well known Amatriciano) and outlets for regional fast foods such as Sicilian Mondo Arancina. The Ottaviano station of Subway Line A is within easy walking distance from the apartment and goes to Piazza del Popolo in 2 stops, Piazza di Spagna in 3 stops and to the Stazione Termini (the main railroad station where there are direct trains to Fiumicino airport) in 6 stops. At the end of this line at Anagnina there are buses to Ciampino airport. The entire area is also well connected with buses to all districts of town.
