This is a professionally run B & B on a private road with ground floor entrances less than a 5 minute walk from the colonnade of St. Peter's Square.
There are two separate units each with its own entrance.
- Room 1, with its private entrance door opening directly into the room, is a separate accommodation with a double bed (not divisible) and an ensuite bathroom with an electric water heater.
- Rooms 2, 3 & 4 have a common entrance door which enters into a living room that serves all 3 bedrooms and offers a Wi-Fi connection. Each of the three bedrooms has a double bed (not divisible) and an ensuite bathroom with a gas water heater. The two separate units can accommodate a total of 8 persons.
The general decor is simple and functional.
All rooms are air conditioned and heated including the bathrooms; all are equipped with a flat screen TV, a wardrobe, a desk, a chair, a night table and a small refrigerator which is kept stocked by the host with a bottle of mineral water for guests.
Room 1 has a set of standard windows. The windows in bedrooms 2 & 3 are placed in the upper part of the wall because the ground upon which the building is set is higher on the back of the building. Room number 4 has a standard window overlooking a courtyard decorated with green plants.
The host does not live in the unit but will arrange a change of linens and a cleanup every 3 days.
Breakfast is not served in the B&B but guests are given a voucher for breakfast in a nearby bar.
Check-in must be completed by 10 PM.
Upon request, the owners will arrange transfers to and from the airport with a rental agency.
No smoking or pets;
children welcome.
As noted above, a 5 minute walk from the apartment places you into the famous Bernini Colonnade where the world of St. Peter痴 begins and leads into the Vatican, St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican Museum. The nearby shopping area of via Cola di Rienzo is within a quarter mile radius of the apartment with supermarkets, trattorias, restaurants and all types of shops including an outdoor market where one can shop in the typical Roman fashion. The Ottaviano station of Subway Line A is a 15 minute walk away. This subway goes to Piazza del Popolo in 2 stops, Piazza di Spagna in 3 stops and to the Stazione Termini (main railroad station) in 6 stops where there are trains to and from Fiumicino airport and to the Anagnina subway stop where there are buses to and from Ciampino airport.
The entire area is well connected with local buses to all areas of town such as no. 23 and no. 81 which go to Piazza Venezia, the Roman Forum, the Coliseum, and the historical district of Trastevere. By crossing either of the 2 bridges near the Vatican (the Amedeo di Savoia and the Vittorio Emanuele II) it is a pleasant 15-20 minute walk to the historical center of Rome including Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, Campo dei' Fiori, Piazza Venezia and the Coliseum.
