This family run, air conditioned B&B, just 500 meters (550 yds) from the Vatican Walls, located on the 3rd floor of an early 1900’s elevator building, offers a view of the perimeter walls of the Vatican from the double glazed windows of the apartment. It was remodeled in 2011 but some original materials such as the classic red and white Roman tiles were kept and included in the redesign.
The bed & breakfast section of the apartment is separated from the family area by a corridor screen/room divider. The guest section includes a bedroom with a double bed (with wrap around bookcases) that can be separated into twin beds. A private bathroom (with a stall shower and a hair dryer) is in the corridor and has a gas heating system which provides plenty of hot water. A small, lovely, living room with parquet floors provides a private, restful area for guests only including couches in a seating area, a table and chairs for dining and a TV. Included in the living room area is a kitchen/breakfast area with a small refrigerator, a microwave oven, a coffee maker, a kettle, and an iron and ironing board. Both hosts work but they do provide and set up all the breakfast ingredients allowing guests to have breakfast at their convenience. Also, the guest room will be tidied and cleaned daily but since the hosts work it will be cleaned at 3 PM when they return from work. A free Internet WiFi connection is available for guest use. The hosts speak some English. Children are welcome and a baby cot is available upon request. Check-in from noon (12 PM).

The historic area of "Borgo" is just round the corner and carries an historical importance as a forecourt to Saint Peter's Basilica and the Vatican. The surrounding area also has a good sampling of restaurants, bars and shops. The Vatican and St. Peter’s Basilica as well as the shopping area of via Cola di Rienzo are all within a very short walk. The Ottaviano station of Subway Line A is also within easy walking distance from the apartment and goes to the historic center including Piazza del Popolo in 2 stops, Piazza di Spagna in 3 stops and to the Stazione Termini (main railroad station) in 6 stops. Both Fiumicino Airport and Ciampino airport are accessible from these points. By crossing either of the 2 bridges near the Vatican (the Amedeo di Savoia and the Vittorio Emanuele II) it is a pleasant 15-20 minute walk to the historical center of Rome including Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Venezia and the Coliseum. There are many buses in this area which connect to all parts of town with a bus stop just outside the building.
