GUEST COMMENTS

This apartment, on the first floor of an elevator building, lies in the heart of the historical and very ancient Appia Antica area. It is an ideal location for those who wish to absorb the “feel” of ancient Roman history. It lies between the Appia Antica Park and the Scipioni Park, two of the most interesting archeological areas of Rome, in which there are many relics of the early Roman period. These include ancient patrician walls, the Cecilia Metella tomb, an early Roman aqueduct and the famous church of Domine Quo Vadis. This Church is located on the spot where tradition says Saint Peter had a vision of the risen Christ while fleeing persecution in Rome and turned back to Rome to also face crucifixion. There is a marble slab in front of the church with two footprints which are said to have been miraculously left by Jesus. The Colosseum and the Circo Massimo are also at walking distance (1,9 km - 1,1 miles).
The flat accommodates up to 7 persons. It is located on a quiet street very near to shops, supermarkets, bars and banks.
The very light filled unit was redecorated in 2010. It offers 2 bedrooms:
- one with a double bed and a single bed,
- the other with 2 twin beds;
- a living/dining room with a double sofa bed;
- 2 bathrooms, one with a tub and the other with a shower & both with hairdryers.
There is a fully furnished kitchen with a stove top (gas), oven, refrigerator, microwave oven, clothes washer, kettle, toaster, iron & ironing board.
The unit has 2 terraces, one overlooks the street the other looks out on an internal courtyard.
The windows are all double glazed which keeps the apartment very quiet.
All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, satellite TV & Internet Wi-Fi.
There is also a computer in the main corridor of the house which provides Internet access for those who do not travel with a computer.

Nearby are 2 bus stops which go to the main train station (Stazione Termini) and the historical center. The Re di Roma station on Metro Line A is 700 mt. (less than half a mile) away and gets to the Stazione in 4 stops.
From these points most tourist attractions are readily accessible in historical Rome.
The Scipioni Park is just a few meters away for those who like to stroll or jog. The host family provides seven bicycles in the unit for guests' use. This makes it easier to explore the parks and the ancient patrician villas on Sundays when the area is off-limits to private cars.
For those who like Italian gelato there is a branch of the famous "San Crispino" shop just around the corner in via Acaia 56.

Distances:

- Scipioni Park 400 mt.
- Appia Antica Park 600 mt.
- St John's basilica 1,6 km.
- Colosseo and Circo Massimo 1,9 km.
- Termini station 3,5 km.
